Parkam Chilled Foods was founded in 1983. At this time the company specialised in poultry products for retail and foodservice. The business has grown quickly since then both naturally and through acquisitions to become The Parkam food Group. The group now employs over 750 people working at five sites across the country and provides products from a much wider range of species including, beef, pork, lamb, turkey, chicken and duck.
Inspired has managed the energy purchasing since 2001, successfully retaining the account every year in an extremely competitive arena. We have provided a variety of purchasing methods over the years. In fact, this year they were the first entrants into our pioneering Electricity & Gas baskets.
The overall budget we manage in respect of gas & electricity is in excess of £1.5 Million per annum, in addition we also secured & continue to manage their CCL exemption status.

Zarlink
|
For over 30 years, Zarlink Semiconductor has delivered semiconductor solutions that drive the capabilities of voice, enterprise, broadband and wireless communications. The Company's success is built on its technology strengths including voice and data networks, optoelectronics and ultra low-power communications.
Inspired has a phenomenal performance record with Zarlink having managed their gas & electricity since March 2007. We saved more than £40,000 over 6 months on a small gas contract, and then capped the 2008 budget by buying gas in Aug 2007 for Jan 08 delivery.
We also encouraged them to buy their electricity contract 13 months in advance of their October 2008 renewal, this created a saving in excess of £260,000. In fact if they were to buy the same contract now their costs would increase by £1.million.

Thermal
Hire |
For well over 25 years, Thermal Hire has provided heat treatment services for a wide variety of clients and has developed expertise in the industry that is second to none. The company’s reputation for reliability, professionalism and commitment extends across many specialist sectors.
Inspired were appointed in 2006 when Thermal Hire needed a day ahead gas agreement, the majority of their income is index linked to the gas market by their main client but their previous energy consultants had only been able to deliver a month ahead contract due to the clients annual consumption - this left Thermal Hire at a significant financial disadvantage. Although the spend at Thermal Hire is in excess of £1.2 million a year on gas they only qualify for month ahead, but Inspired Energy were able to use the weight of our existing portfolio to leverage a day ahead supply agreement giving the client exactly what they require.

|
AETC has established some of the most modern and comprehensive facilities among the world’s independent suppliers of hot section airfoil components for gas turbine engines. A continuous capital investment programme in plant, machinery and new process technology maintains AETC’s forefront capability in the manufacture of airfoils. Today, AETC employs approximately 650 people on three sites collectively covering over 400,000 sq. ft. of space. AETC.
To win this account we had to compete against three other notable energy advisors. We were successful in winning the business as we identified an opportunity to deliver cost savings of more than £250,000 when our competitors were actually increasing costs.
Following an extensive audit of the HH data we were able to prove that, with a small degree of load management , an ‘energy only’ agreement would deliver savings of more than £250,000. After the first round of historical analysis we are actually ahead of the projection. This result has been delivered through a combina t i on of ongoing Tr iad management from Inspired and a commitment from AETC to embrace the concept of the electricity supply agreement.
